Use Case

PassCast for Event Organisers

Run a branded streaming destination for sports administration bodies, conference organisers, festival operators, and fundraiser series. White-label, multi-event, lower revenue share than InPlayer.

There is a class of organisation whose entire calendar revolves around running events. Sports administration bodies covering a season of fixtures. Conference operators running an annual series. Festival programmers booking weeks of content. Charity foundations running quarterly fundraisers. For these organisations, a single-event tool is the wrong shape. They need a permanent streaming home that the audience comes back to every time, branded as the organisation itself rather than as the platform underneath. PassCast Channel was built for exactly this audience.

What a branded streaming destination looks like

A Channel-tier setup is a streaming page on the organisation's own domain, for example tv.yourorganisation.com or watch.yourorganisation.com. Every event the organisation runs lives on that page. Past events appear in an archive. Upcoming events have ticket pages with reminders. Live events take over the homepage automatically. The audience never has to learn a new platform. They go to the same URL and find whatever is on this week.

Branding is fully white-label. The organisation's logo, colours, fonts, and sponsor placements run consistently across the public pages, the ticket confirmation emails, the viewer page, and the post-event replay. Sponsors get pre-roll placement and persistent branding rather than a single mention in a Twitter post. PassCast itself appears nowhere in the visible viewer experience.

Pricing that scales with you

Channel is £250 per month plus 8% of ticket revenue. Compared to platforms charging multiples of that for similar functionality, the headline saving is significant. The deeper structural difference is the revenue share. Most enterprise streaming contracts include a minimum-fee structure that punishes a low-volume month. PassCast does not. If a quiet month sells fewer tickets, the percentage take is lower in absolute terms. The fixed monthly fee covers infrastructure, not minimum guarantees.

For organisations running ten or more substantial events a year, Channel is materially cheaper than the equivalent build on InPlayer, Vimeo OTT, or a custom Cleeng integration. The Ulster Schools GAA implementation at tv.ulsterschoolsgaa.com is the reference example: fifteen historic videos in the archive, a live competition tab for upcoming fixtures, full sponsor branding, and a single Stripe account collecting on behalf of the organisation.

Where Channel fits versus single-event tools

Channel is the right tier when the audience expects to come back. A wedding videographer running one livestream a month per client is on Community. A school running a Christmas concert and a graduation each year is on Community. A sports administration body running a forty-fixture season under a single brand is on Channel. The decision is about audience continuity rather than event volume alone.

Frequently asked questions

What does Channel cost compared to InPlayer or Vimeo OTT?

Channel is £250 per month plus 8% of ticket revenue. InPlayer and similar enterprise platforms typically charge multiples of that and add a higher per-transaction fee. The PassCast Channel cost is set deliberately at the level where a mid-sized organisation can justify the spend on a single quarter of activity rather than needing a multi-year contract to amortise it.

Can we use our own domain like tv.yourorganisation.com?

Yes. Custom domains are standard on Channel. The setup involves a single CNAME record pointing to PassCast and SSL is provisioned automatically. The audience never sees a passcast.tv URL anywhere.

How long does it take to get a Channel-tier setup live?

Most channels are live within two weeks of the first conversation. That covers domain setup, brand kit configuration, Stripe Connect onboarding, and a content-loading session with the organisation's admin contact. Tight launch deadlines can be accelerated by prioritising configuration over pixel-perfect brand polish in the first phase.

Can multiple staff log in and manage events?

Yes. Channel tier supports multiple admin accounts with role-based access. A media officer can manage events, a finance contact can view payouts, and a sponsor manager can update branding. The organisation controls who has access to what.

Does PassCast handle live production, or only the platform?

PassCast is the platform. The organisation handles production using its own crew, OB van, or contracted production company. The platform accepts any RTMP-compatible source and handles distribution, ticketing, branding, replays, and viewer experience. For organisations without an in-house production capability, PassCast can recommend production partners on a case-by-case basis.

What about sponsors? How do they get visibility?

Channel-tier setups include sponsor branding across the public pages, pre-roll advertising slots before live and on-demand content, persistent sponsor logos on the viewer page, and dedicated sponsor mentions in confirmation emails. Sponsor placements are configurable per event and per series. Many organisations fund the Channel monthly fee directly from one or two sponsor placements.

How does payment work?

Payments are collected directly into the organisation's Stripe Connect account in real time as tickets are sold. PassCast does not hold the organisation's money. Stripe pays out to the organisation's bank account on its standard schedule. The 8% Channel revenue share is collected automatically as an application fee on each transaction.
