Every charity running a gala dinner, a sponsored event, a comedy night, or an anniversary fundraiser has the same opportunity. The people in the room are paying. The supporters who could not attend are not. PassCast turns that gap into revenue. Sell a virtual ticket at a price that reflects the cause, livestream the event, and let supporters around the world contribute even when they cannot be there in person. Registered charities qualify for a reduced commission rate so the maximum amount reaches the cause.
The events that work
Charity galas and dinners are the strongest fit. The in-person ticket might be sixty pounds and includes a meal. The virtual ticket can be priced at fifteen or twenty pounds for the livestream of the speeches, the auction, and the entertainment. Supporters abroad and supporters who could not afford the full price still contribute. The charity captures revenue from an audience it would otherwise have lost.
Sponsored runs and walks work differently. Family members of participants who cannot attend the route can buy a livestream ticket for the start, the finish line, and a curated highlight feed. Charity comedy nights, music nights, and quiz nights all map onto the same pattern. Anything where there is a venue, a cost to attend in person, and a wider supporter base is a candidate.
Reduced commission for registered charities
PassCast operates a reduced commission rate for registered charities. The standard 20% Community share is reviewed downwards for organisations with a UK Charity Commission number, an Irish Charities Regulator number, or equivalent registration. The exact rate depends on the event size and is agreed before signup.
This is structurally different from running a fundraiser through a standard ticketing platform. Eventbrite and similar platforms charge a fixed booking fee per ticket regardless of whether the buyer is supporting a charity or a corporate event. PassCast acknowledges that the cause matters and prices accordingly.
Setup and approvals
A charity contacts PassCast with the registration number, the event details, and the expected ticket volume. The team configures the reduced commission rate and approves the account. From that point on, the charity creates events, sets ticket prices, and runs livestreams the same way any other Community-tier user does. Stripe payouts go directly to the charity's bank account in real time.

What commission does PassCast charge a registered charity?
The standard Community-tier commission is 20%. For registered charities (UK Charity Commission, Irish Charities Regulator, or equivalent), this is reviewed and reduced on a case-by-case basis depending on event size and frequency. Contact kevin@passcast.tv with your charity registration number to discuss the rate before signup.
Does PassCast issue a Gift Aid receipt for UK charities?
PassCast itself is a streaming platform, not a Gift Aid processor. The charity remains responsible for issuing Gift Aid receipts to UK supporters using its own systems. PassCast provides a record of every ticket buyer including name and email which the charity can use for Gift Aid claims.
Can supporters who do not watch the livestream still donate through PassCast?
PassCast is built around ticketed access to a stream rather than open donations. For supporters who want to give without watching, the charity should use a dedicated donation platform. PassCast complements rather than replaces a charity's primary donation infrastructure.
How quickly does the charity receive the funds?
Payments go directly to the charity's Stripe account in real time as tickets are sold. Stripe pays out to the charity's bank account on its standard schedule, usually within two to seven days. PassCast does not hold the charity's money at any point.
Can we add the charity's sponsors and partners to the event page?
Yes. Every event page can carry the charity logo, sponsor logos, and partner logos. The page can also link out to the charity's main website, donation page, and social channels.
Is PassCast suitable for international charities running fundraising events from Ireland or the UK?
Yes. PassCast is based in Ireland but serves charities operating across the UK and Ireland. International charities running events from a UK or Irish venue are welcome on the platform. Charities based outside the UK and Ireland should contact the team to confirm regional support.
