Basketball is played indoors with fast action and frequent scoring, which makes it engaging to watch on a live stream. School, college, and club teams can reach a wider audience and generate revenue by streaming their games.
Camera placement
Position the camera at half court, elevated above the action. Most sports halls have a balcony or stage area that provides an ideal vantage point. A wide-angle lens captures both ends of the court.
If the hall has no elevated position, place the camera on a tall tripod at the sideline near half court. Use a wider focal length to keep both baskets in frame.
Indoor streaming considerations
Sports halls usually have Wi-Fi but it may be shared with other users. If possible, use a wired connection to the venue router. Otherwise, a dedicated mobile hotspot avoids contention with the venue network.
Gym lighting is typically adequate for streaming but check for flicker. LED lights can cause banding on camera at certain frame rates. Switch to 30 fps if you see horizontal bands in your footage.
