How to Live Stream a Prize Giving

How to stream school prize giving and awards ceremonies. Covers camera setup, capturing individual moments, and ticketing.

Prize givings and awards ceremonies are special moments for students and their families. Streaming them ensures that every family can witness their child receive recognition, regardless of whether they can attend in person.

Capturing individual moments

The key moment at a prize giving is the individual walk to the stage and the handshake or presentation. Frame your camera shot to capture this clearly. If you have zoom capability, tighten the frame as each student approaches the stage.

A second camera or phone can capture crowd reactions and provide a cutaway shot between presentations.

Audio

Prize givings involve speeches, name announcements, and applause. Take audio from the venue PA system if possible. If not, position a microphone near the announcer rather than relying on the camera microphone from the back of the hall.

Ticketing

Prize givings are typically free or nominally priced at 2 to 3 pounds. The school can use the stream as a fundraising opportunity by adding a voluntary donation button alongside the free stream.

Celebrate every achievement

PassCast supports free events with optional donations. Stream your prize giving and let every family be part of the celebration.
