Your wedding day is not the time to troubleshoot technology. This checklist ensures everything is prepared, tested, and ready before the ceremony begins.
Before the day
Visit the venue and test internet speed. Confirm camera position with the venue coordinator. Arrange mains power for your equipment. Create the event on your streaming platform and send the link to remote guests. Do a full test stream from the venue if possible.
Equipment to bring
Camera or smartphone. Tripod. External microphone. Laptop with streaming software (if not using a phone app). Ethernet cable or mobile hotspot. Power cables and extension lead. Headphones for audio monitoring. Backup phone with streaming app installed.
On the day
Arrive at least 90 minutes before the ceremony. Set up equipment and run a test stream. Check audio levels with the officiant or sound technician. Start the stream 10 minutes before the ceremony. Monitor the stream on a second device throughout.
After the ceremony, keep the stream running for a few minutes to capture the exit and any immediate celebrations. Then stop the stream and confirm the recording is saved.
